Lakehouse was founded by immigrants who were once temporary residents. We fell in love with Canada and are proud to call it our home. Our initial dream was to become permanent residents.
Now, as proud Canadian citizens, one of our greatest aspirations is to live on the edge of a lake, in a place of peace, comfort, and prosperity. This vision inspired the name of our company, Lakehouse Immigration Consulting. Rodrigo Sotto Maior
Co-Founder & CEO
Rodrigo, co-founder and CEO of Lakehouse Immigration Consulting, is originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and moved to Canada seeking a better life for his family.
With over 25 years of experience as a business executive, he began his journey as a university student and is now a proud Canadian citizen.
After experiencing the transformative immigration process firsthand and building a robust career in the Canadian immigration sector, Rodrigo recognized the need for a more client-centered approach.
Together with Rafael, they developed an innovative, humane, and cost-effective system that sets Lakehouse apart. Rodrigo also helps global startups expand into the North American market through the Canadian Start-Up Visa program. ■
Rafael Schafer Marques
Co-Founder & RCIC
Rafael, a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) and founder of Lakehouse Immigration Consulting, is dedicated to providing fair, accessible immigration services.
Originally from Brazil, Rafael began his Canadian journey as a student in 2006 and is now a Canadian citizen, having experienced the immigration process firsthand.
Before founding Lakehouse in 2020, he ran a successful Education Consulting Agency, guiding thousands through education-based pathways. At Lakehouse, Rafael leverages his expertise to help clients secure Canadian residency with a personalized, hands-on approach.
His extensive experience with startups and small businesses has been instrumental in supporting companies to bring skilled workers to Canada and assisting innovative ventures through the Startup Visa Program. ■
Leticia Melo
RCIC
Leticia is a Canadian Regulated Immigration Consultant (RCIC) who has lived in Canada for over a decade.
Originally from Brazil, her journey began as an international student before she became a business owner, operating a small exchange student agency, which led to her own immigration to Canada.
With a background as an educational consultant, Leticia advised individuals pursuing study and work opportunities abroad.
In 2019, she earned a Certificate in Immigration Laws, Policies, and Procedures from the University of British Columbia (UBC), officially becoming an RCIC. Leticia finds great joy in helping others achieve their dream of immigrating to Canada, whether temporarily or permanently. ■
